Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Child and adolescent psychiatrists treat children and young people with a range of mental health conditions, including Neurodevelopmental Disorders, intellectual disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or a combination of these disorders, among others, as well as other conditions associated with challenging behaviour.

The age of patients seen at the clinic start from approximately 10-12 years of age up to 20-25 years, with patients then referred to other adults services.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists work with a multidisciplinary team of other healthcare professionals including psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and nurses. Clients are also referred to other healthcare professionals who work in CAYS as required.

The clinic at CAYS is held once a week every Tuesday.
